Lola the Corolla

July 29, 2009 Toyota Vehicles No Comments

My very first car was a Toyota Corolla. It was my parents car originally. When I turned 16 they got a new one and gave me the Corolla, which I soon thereafter named Lola. I loved Lola the Corolla more than any other I’d driven or any other makes and models my friends carted around in. She was simple and gave me everything I needed, as long as I gave her everything she needed. Needless to say, after five years of driving her, combined with the years my parents drove Lola, her time had passed. I moved on to a 1995 Camry named Ned. He was great, but I always longed for Lola’s simple, warm embrace. I’ve moved on to larger cars over the years as I have needed room for family, and I was afraid I’d never feel another Corolla cuddle again.

But at Toyota Gurnee dealer Classic Toyota I got the chance to get behind the wheel of one of Lola’s siblings. The new Toyota Corolla has hit showroom floors, and after a Toyota Gurnee test drive, I can tell you that the new ones are just as reliable and wonderful as Lola the Corolla was.2009-corolla-14

The new Corolla continues the long-standing tradition of Toyota reliability, durability and dependability. Even far before I was driving the Corolla, it has been a vehicle that people have known they can count on. This new model is no exception. Starting at just $15,350, it balances being an economical buy (which everyone could use a little of right now…) and being everything a consumer could ask for in a Toyota.

Corolla Waukegan dealers will tell you that the new model year keeps in the Toyota tradition of great gas mileage. Achieving 26 mpg in the city, 35 mpg on the highway, and 32 mpg overall, the new Corolla is a tough consumption competitor for other cars in its class.

This new Toyota also comes with plenty of upgrades from its previous Lola-like predecessors. For example, features like Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Traction Control (TRAC) both come standard. The interior is extremely organized, making all controls easy to use and easy to find. Plus, it still boasts a great ride. Getting 132 horsepower, it has an excellent acceleration and is an overall very smooth drive. These new Corollas, like Lola, will give you everything you need as long as you give them what they need.

Even though Lolas days are done, it is wonderful to see the new Corollas carry on her greatness. So for loyalty and dependability, stop in to your local Toyota Gurnee dealership to find out more about the new Toyota Corolla Waukegan.
