Toyota taking every step to restore confidence in its consumers

March 22, 2010 Featured, Toyota News No Comments

Toyota’s image has been tarnished, there is no question about that, but there are certain measures Akio Toyoda can take in hopes of salvaging his car companies image in the United States.  Gurnee new and used car dealer Classic Toyota is still a very proud distributor of Toyota vehicles, as they are confident that Toyota will not let a few road blocks deter consumers from trusting their once seamless reputable brand.

Toyoda has acknowledged the company’s problems, explaining why these problems occurred, detailing the necessary repairs accompanying the recalls and he has apologized, in Japan. In driving a Toyota model – be it the Prius, the Corolla or the Camry – Gurnee-area customers are looking for reassurance, and Toyota seems to be providing it.

The Camry and Prius recalls are old news, but now another one of their best-selling cars, the Corolla subcompact car was announced that it might have possible steering defects. Fortunately for us, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is opening a formal investigation into the 2009 and 2010 models of Corollas. It has been suggested that around a half a million Corolla models could be involved. Additionally several hearings scheduled by three Congressional committees will begin formally addressing these issues.

Toyota has been around for too long, satisfying their customers and exceeding their expectations, and it’s unlikely that they will let two years of minor defects get in their way. At used cars Gurnee dealers you can expect that finest recall service making this debacle smooth over as easy as possible.

Since January, Toyota has recalled close to 1.8 million cars across the globe, after receiving 124 reports from drivers about a braking problem issue, there were four car crashes which cited Toyota as responsible. Additionally there have been reports of unintentional acceleration, floor mat interferences, front drive shaft, and break tube problems. The Prius models were also recalled citing problems with the ABS system. The recalls have resulted in Toyota spending a near $2 billion in lost output and sales. So far eight models have been involved in this public relations nightmare, the RAV4 2009-2010, Corolla 2009-2010, Matrix 2009-2010, Avalon 2005-2010, Camry 2007-2010, Highlander 2010, Tundra 2007-2010, and Sequoia 2008-2010.
