2010_toyota_tundra_press_image_007As the last wisps of summer fade into the chilly fall and winter winds, Chicagoland will turn into a frozen tundra over the coming months. Icy, windy driving conditions will soon lure drivers into Kenosha Toyota dealers to test-drive a vehicle with power and finesse, one that can handle the harshest of driving conditions but will remain stalwart in roominess. Well, I was lucky enough to test-drive the brand new Toyota Tundra, a full-size truck that contends well with quality competitors like the Chevy Silverado, Dodge Ram and Ford F-150.

The 2010 Toyota Tundra’s new 4.6-liter V8 is the most significant upgrade to the already high-performance vehicle, replacing its predecessor’s five-speed unit with a six-speed automatic to promote better fuel economy.

The Tundra has power in other places, too. The Double Cab 4.6 tow package flaunts a maximum tow rating of 8,300 pounds. In my test-drive, we tugged a 5,000-pound car trailer for 1,200 miles. Not a problem for the 2010 Tundra. Waukegan trucks owners will drool over the power of the Tundra.

The Tundra’s cabin is surprisingly comfy in comparison to some of its competitors. Supportive front seats and an optional telescoping steering wheel allow for a cozy driving experience, while the Double Cab’s spacious cabin is bolstered by front-hinged doors that offer easy access to the rear compartment. The backseat bottom folds up for extra cargo room, giving us convenient space for a wide variety of items.

The Tundra starts at a base price of $29,490, a cost-effective option in the world of full-size trucks. The 2010 Toyota Tundra is a steal if you need to tow items like motorcycles, cars and watercraft. Your local Waukegan dealership shouldn’t have any problems moving these quality vehicles.

As the cold weather approaches, you won’t want to be without a powerful vehicle like the Tundra. The vehicle certainly earns its name in the most adverse of conditions.

A high performing vehicle like the Toyota Tundra represents a benchmark in the full-size truck segment and a wonderful addition to a slowly reviving automotive industry. I couldn’t have been more impressed with my test-drive; the vehicle handled well, provided ample cargo space and a roomy cabin, and pumped out enough power to keep even the pickiest of truck drivers satisfied.

Still unsure? Head down to your local Kenosha Toyota dealership to test-drive the all new 2010 Toyota Tundra and experience the power of the truck for yourself. You’ll be glad you did.
