Toyota’s new type of vehicle: The Swagger Wagon
Toyota’s self-proclaimed “swagger wagon,” or, the 2011 Sienna, features everything you would expect from a mini-van, like superior safety, spacious interior and sliding side doors. Not to mention, it’s stylish and the only minivan available with all-wheel drive. Toyota is certain that the minivan is due for a comeback, and they want you to drive in style and with plenty of room. Check out your Toyota Kenosha dealership for more.
Some updates from the 2010 model include revamped looks and dynamics, flexible seating options, and a four-cylinder engine. The 2011 Sienna has new body panels with a more dynamic front end, and a wide grille framed either in body-color paint or in metallic trim. There’s a sharper crease along the shoulders and geometrically bold windows, and the lines taper rearward to a sleek roofline.
Inside, the Sienna has adopted the latest Toyota styling theme, with a dramatic arc separating driving controls from secondary and passenger-shared controls. The dash is styled to give off more passenger space, and slimmer seats and controls add to the feeling of roominess. Plastic trim is replaced on some versions by matt woodgrain trim, while pricier versions get Optitron gauges.
And for the minivan minded, the Sienna doesn’t disappoint. Seating configurations can fit up to eight passengers. All models are equipped with cruise control, three-zone air conditioning, a power driver’s seat, and remote keyless entry. Opting for the V-6–equipped LE model will get you dual power-sliding rear doors, a power hatch, a backup camera, rear sunshades, XM satellite radio, a USB port with iPod connectivity, and Bluetooth with music-streaming capability. The XLE option adds leather seating with heated fronts, a sunroof, and an anti-theft system. Optional is a navigation system with a JBL 10-speaker sound system and a panorama rear camera, and a rear-seat entertainment system with a 16.4-inch widescreen display that can show two different programs side-by-side.
The top-level Limited model will feature luxurious second-row “Lounge Seating,” offering pop-up leg support. Also included are power-folding third-row seats, parking sensors, dual sunroofs, HID headlights, rain-sensing wipers, and a pre-collision system with radar cruise, for those who really intend on living in their cars.
And fuel-wise, the Sienna does pretty well: the EPA fuel-economy ratings for the four-cylinder are an impressive 19 mpg city and 26 mpg highway. Steering has now gone full-electric, which Toyota claims will “deliver a more solid direct on-road feel.” All-wheel drive will continue to be offered with the V-6 on LE, XLE, and Limited models.
